Music is the therapy of the soul' and there is nothing like live music to heal us and take our souls to new heights. To that end, RASA Management LLC, in partnership with the SPK Academy of Music Inc, is excited to announce a live concert tour titled '"Raag Raagini' featuring North Indian sitar maestro Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan and South Indian Carnatic violinist Smt. Vijayalakshmi Lalgudi. The tour brings these two gifted performers together after seven years.

Lalgudi G.J.R. Krishnan
In the sphere of Carnatic music, the name Lalgudi G J R Krishnan is instantly associated with melody, rhythm, masterly technique on the violin and overall musical excellence. Born in the lineage of the great Saint and Composer Shri Thyagaraja, he was meticulously groomed by his father and Guru, the great legend Shri Lalgudi Jayaraman. Raised in an atmosphere redolent of sublime, divine music, Krishnan has metamorphosed into an outstanding musician. Krishnan began his musical training at the tender age of five under the watchful guidance of his illustrious grandfather Lalgudi Gopala Iyer and has been honed to perfection by his illustrious father. His innate talent and the natural brilliance and musical ability combined with focused training and disciplined approach, has elevated him to a much sought after artiste and over the years he has carved an elevated niche for himself as a top-ranking violinist.
The Lalgudi Bani is unique in the sense that it comes closest to the gayaki style of musical expression with the sahitya and the emotions embedded in the composition emerging loud and clear. Krishnan has creditably internalized this exquisite quality of violin playing and is recognized by the lay and cognoscenti as an artiste of remarkable merit. He maintains a judicious balance of aesthetics and grammer, not sacrificing one at the altar of the other.
His debut in 1973 marked the entry of a radiant, brilliant, incandescent star in the constellation of South Indian Music. He soon won widespread acclaim, and a truly appreciative fan following has increased by leaps and bounds throughout the years. Krishnan has performed many duets and trio concerts along with Sri Lalgudi Jayaramam and his sister Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi, solos and has also been featured in several Jugalbandhi's. He has widely travelled to countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Canada and USA rendering many performances and enthralling audiences around the world.
Krishnan's music represents the quintessence of the Lalgudi Style and is a delight to the finer senses. His music is underlined by pristine purity, lucidity, innovation, immaculate laya, superb clarity, melody, perfect rhythm and a deep sense of passion and involvement in his chosen vocation.
In his academic pursuits, Krishnan has been more than exemplary. He is a Post Graduate in Commerce(M.Com), a Cost and Works Accountant (I.C.W.A) and a Company Secretary (ACS). Krishnan's passion and love for Carnatic Music, made him choose music as a profession
